AIFF closes investigation into harassment complaint by female employee.

The All India Football Federation (AIFF) has announced the closure of its investigation into a verbal complaint of harassment made by a female employee against a male colleague. According to the AIFF, the investigation was closed as both the alleged victim and the accused expressed a lack of interest in pursuing the matter further. The incident involved a female employee at the AIFF headquarters in India filing a verbal complaint of harassment against a male colleague, although she did not proceed with formal charges.

The AIFF’s Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) conducted an investigation into the matter but faced challenges due to the lack of willingness from both parties to provide further information or cooperate with the process. Consequently, the investigation was concluded and deemed withdrawn based on the unavailability of additional details to proceed with the case.

In response to the complaint, the ICC convened a meeting to address the issue, during which the female employee requested additional time before making any decisions regarding her complaint. Earlier this year, the AIFF established the ICC in accordance with the Sexual Harassment of Women at the Workplace Act of 2013, demonstrating its commitment to addressing such sensitive matters within the organization.

The closure of the investigation denotes the resolution of this particular case, highlighting the significance of transparent and comprehensive procedures in handling harassment complaints in professional settings. It underscores the importance of creating a safe work environment where employees feel empowered to raise concerns and where due process is followed to address such issues effectively.
