Based on actual events inspiring the 1963 film, 13 Assassins by Takashi Miike tells the story of noble samurai aiming to stop a tyrannical lord from taking over Japan in 1844. A concerned official recruits 13 skilled swordsmen to defeat the evil lord, who is well-protected. The leader devises a clever trap to outsmart the lord’s bodyguards.
