Film Beyond the Black Rainbow (2010) is an idiosyncratic sci-fi movie with a futuristic fantasy. In the year 1983, Dr. Mercurio Arboria and the government create a therapy program for happiness and freedom. Test subject Elena, unimpressed, is kept in a drug-induced state against her will in a hospital. Dr. Barry Nyle and nurse Margo monitor her progress. Elena plots an escape after becoming aware of her situation.
