Film Poison (1991)
This film gained notoriety due to Rev. Donald Wildmon questioning NEA funding used for it. Todd Haynes’ debut feature explores the toxic effects of sex through three segments. The segments include a pseudo-docudrama about a boy who shoots his father, a mad scientist story, and a gay love story set in a prison, all inspired by Jean Genet’s writings.
